Following a pair of early playoff exits, Class 1A seventh-ranked Iowa City Regina (2-0) is off to a flying start. A week after a convincing 44-6 win over West Liberty, the Regals followed it up with another dominant performance, dispatching Mid-Prairie, 51-19, Friday night.
The Cedar Rapids Washington Warriors hosted the Linn-Mar Lions at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids for an Iowa high school Class 5A football game. The Lions defeated the Warriors 49-7.
Williamsburg created its own breaks, made some big plays and denied Cedar Rapids Xavier’s late 2-point conversion in a 21-20 victory. The Saints’ 14-game winning streak came to an end.
