The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) will be merging with St. Luke's Hospital on Jan. 1, 2012. The VNA, which has been part of Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities since 1919, specializes in comprehensive home care services to patients of all ages.
VNA's relationship to St. Luke's Hospital started in 1989 when St. Luke's began providing management services, while VNA continued as a free-standing agency. After twenty years of a successful relationship, the VNA Board of Directors made the decision to officially integrate the entire agency with the hospital.
“We are very pleased to have VNA join the St. Luke's family,” said Ted Townsend, president and CEO of St. Luke's. “We look forward to caring for VNA patients and families as we fulfill our mission of giving the healthcare we'd like our loved ones to receive.”
Visiting Nurse Association delivers many services within a 50 mile radius of St. Luke's such as skilled nursing care, physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, children's health services, flu clinics, home health aides and social services.
