Celebrated nationally on March 30 every year, Doctor's Day is the perfect time to say “thank you” to a doctor or other caregiver and that's what employees at St. Luke's are doing all week with an expanded “Doctor's Week.”
In 1958, the United States House of Representatives adopted a resolution to recognize Doctor's Day. In 1990, a resolution was passed by both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, and President George Bush signed a resolution, which designated March 30 as National Doctor's Day.
National Doctor's Day is a reminder to patients, friends, and family members to thank their doctors for caring for community members. Acts of appreciation of can be shown by sending cards, letters, or personally thanking the physician.
The halls of St. Luke's are lined with physician pictures this week -- as a salute our doctors. Additionally doctors are enjoying a complimentary beverage at Brewed Awakenings today, games in the doctor's lounge on Tuesday and hand, arm and neck massages on Thursday.
