In observance of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Mercy Medical Center is sponsoring "Pink in the Rink Night" at The Stable (Cedar Rapids Ice Arena) on Fri., Oct. 28. The hockey game begins at 7 p.m.
The evening is dedicated to honoring breast cancer survivors, as well as raising awareness about the importance of early detection. Proceeds from special activities at the game will be directed to the Especially for You® fund at Mercy Medical Center. The fund helps pay for breast care services, such as mammograms, for women and men who are uninsured or under-insured.
Get to the game early! The first 1200 fans will receive megaphones with the following message: Shout it Loud! Mammograms Save Lives.
Mercy will also be showing a video at the game that illustrates the life-saving importance of early detection.
