Halloran returns to council days after cancer surgery
Aug. 5, 2009 10:09 pm
True to her word, Mayor Kay Halloran was back on the front lines on Wednesday at City Hall, two days after surgery for breast cancer.
Halloran had the surgery on Monday afternoon and returned home that night to report that all went as planned.
She has described the cancer as localized and the least-serious kind. She says it is considered Stage 0.
Wednesday night, Halloran, 72, lead the regular weekly council meeting, all nearly three hours of it.
Actually, Halloran was on the job Tuesday evening when she attended the National Night Out event in her neighborhood, the Wellington Heights Neighborhood.
