“Your ‘vibration’ is a fancy way of describing your overall state of being,” says Cassandra Sturdy, author and transformational coach. “Everything in the universe is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. Even things that look solid are made up of vibrational energy fields at the quantum level. This includes you.”
As Dr. Casey Means, co-founder of Levels and author of “Good Energy,” says, “The quality of our energy is a reflection of the choices we make each day, from the foods we eat to the thoughts we think.” By focusing on actions that raise your vibrational frequency, you can cultivate more positive energy in your life.
Raising your vibration means giving attention, or energy, to what you want in life. So how can you vibrate at a higher frequency? There are many ways you can increase your vibrational frequency, here are just some ideas.
- Physical activity. Adding physical activity to your day can drastically increase your vibration. Dance in the kitchen, play indoor basketball with some buddies, walk and talk with a friend or family member. What exercise do you enjoy?
- Create time for centering. This could be meditation, quiet time in the morning or evening, journaling or reading. What daily routines can you practice that will increase your vibration?
- Be aware of your surroundings. This includes the people you choose to be around, the TV you watch or the information you digest on the internet. I remember one day after school watching mad guests screaming on the “Jerry Springer Show.” My mom came home and changed the channel saying, “We don’t want to invite those angry people into our home.”
- Let go of the past. We all know how heavy it feels to carry resentment, anger or regret. If something in your past is not serving you well in the present… then release it. Your energy will dramatically increase.
- Be grateful. This exercise of acknowledging the things you are grateful for will instantly increase your vibrational frequency.
- Eat high-vibration foods: Means emphasizes the importance of consuming foods that naturally raise your vibration, particularly those that have been grown in the sun. According to Means, foods like fresh, organic fruits and vegetables are high-vibration because they absorb the sun’s energy during their growth. This process infuses them with life-giving energy, which is then transferred to your body when you eat them.
- Take action. Procrastination, or having things left undone, will subconsciously pull at you, lowering your vibration. Set and complete small goals.
- Claim responsibility. Playing the blame game will lower your vibrational frequency. Here’s the bad news and good news: while it’s true that you cannot control what has happened to you in the past, you are 100 percent in control of your reaction and your vibration in the present.
Each of these practices can help you vibrate at a higher frequency, bringing more positivity and fulfillment into your life. Remember, the energy you put out into the universe is the energy that comes back to you.
