Tyler Linderbaum named unanimous consensus All-American
Center becomes 10th Hawkeye to earn All-America status from all five organizations

IOWA CITY — Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum received All-America first-team honors from the American Football Coaches Association Wednesday, making him a unanimous consensus All-American.
The 6-foot-3 center already earned consensus All-American status after the Associated Press, Walter Camp Foundation and Football Writers Association of America named him a first-team honoree.
With Tuesday’s Sporting News recognition and Wednesday’s AFCA recognition, Linderbaum became the 10th Iowa player to achieve unanimous consensus All-America status.
Linderbaum also was the winner of the Rimington Trophy that goes to the best center in college football and a finalist for the Outland Trophy that goes to the best interior lineman in college football.
Cornerback Matt Hankins also received second-team All-America honors from the AFCA Wednesday.
