We decided this week's On Iowa Podcast couldn't wait. With media day and Iowa's Kids Day open scrimmage last weekend, we chucked Thursday and went with the podcast today.
So, please join The Gazette's Marc Morehouse and The Athletic's Scott Dochterman on this jaunt through what we saw on Saturday.
Linebacker is up in the air, at least a little. The defense will move faster once that position settles. Man, Iowa is deep on the D-line. Man, Iowa isn't deep on the O-line. Work to do for the No. 2 OL, and the countdown to Northern Illinois is on, with starting tackles Tristan Wirfs and Alaric Jackson sitting out with suspensions.
Running back and wide receiver depth aren't great. New RB Mekhi Sargent looks like a goer.
Some impressions. The next time you see a helmeted Tigerhawk on the Kinnick field, it'll count.
