#oniowapod braces for Iowa football media day
Marc Morehouse

Iowa's media day is Friday.
On this edition of the On Iowa Podcast, The Athletic's Scott Dochterman and The Gazette's Marc Morehouse talk about what we're looking to get out of it. And that isn't much. Media days everywhere are the opening rounds of 'American Idol.' You get people who don't even know how to play their guitars much less sing.
So, you have to narrow your focus. I want to see how much A.J. Epenesa loves being a Hawkeye (it's a lot, a lot a lot). Scott said he's only going to interview punters this season. I can see how that would be of primary importance to a Bears fan. (I kid, I kid.)
We also talked suspensions. Iowa is up to four suspensions for the opener against Northern Illinois, including starting offensive tackles Tristan Wirfs and Alaric Jackson. Who knows what Kirk Ferentz says to the question, but the read right now is Jackson has now been suspended for back-to-back games. That doesn't seem steady. But again, let's hear Ferentz out.
Good stuff on the Ferentz/Iowa origin story.
Loved the Twitter questions once again. Thank you so much for listening. Thanks to Penske Truck Rentals for their sponsorship.
