IOWA CITY — It looks like Ivory Kelly-Martin will get to finish his senior season with a start in the Citrus Bowl.
The 5-foot-10 back is the starter on Iowa’s depth chart ahead of the Jan. 1 Citrus Bowl after Tyler Goodson opted out to prepare for the 2022 NFL Draft.
Kelly-Martin had six starts in 2018, but has not started a game since then with Mekhi Sargent and Goodson ahead of him on the depth chart.
He backed up Goodson for the first half of the 2021 season, but he hasn’t taken a handoff since Iowa’s 27-7 loss to Wisconsin, where he fumbled the ball on Iowa’s 1-yard-line.
He finished the season with 44 carries for 190 yards, an average of 4.3 per carry.
Other depth chart notes
- Spencer Petras is listed as Iowa’s starting quarterback for the second straight game. Petras and backup Alex Padilla struggled in the Big Ten Championship Game loss to Michigan.
- Cornerbacks Matt Hankins and Terry Roberts are not listed on the depth chart. Roberts played in the Big Ten Championship Game after missing the previous five games. Hankins is “probably is going to miss the bowl game,” Kirk Ferentz said before the Big Ten Championship Game.
