It was Pinstripe Bowl weather today at Yankee Stadium

I got cold just looking at photos from Yankee Stadium Monday.

Of course, I got cold when I stepped outside in Cedar Rapids Monday.

That the New York Yankees' home-opener would be postponed by snow was kind of different. Why Major League Baseball thinks it's a good idea to schedule games on April 2 in cold-weather cities is beyond me. Why the Tampa Bay Rays were scheduled to play the Yankees in New York Monday when the Rays have a domed stadium ... you tell me.

Three months and a week ago, Iowa played in the Pinstripe Bowl in that venue. Luckily for all involved, there was no snow. Unluckily, the wind-chill that day was 13 degrees. I got cold watching it. And I was in a Memphis hotel room.

It was cold in Memphis that day, too. I'm cold right now.

Spring is coming. If it wants to put the pedal to the metal, that's fine with me.
