Iowa-Nebraska Black Fridays return in 2022

Aug. 29, 2018 3:32 pm, Updated: Aug. 29, 2018 5:06 pm
The Black Friday part of the Iowa-Nebraska football rivalry will have just a two-year blackout, then will resume into the indefinite future.
The Big Ten announced its football schedules for 2022-25 Wednesday. Closing the conference season each of those years is a day-after-Thanksgiving Iowa-Nebraska game.
Other notes: Iowa will open the 2021 season with a Big Ten game, against Indiana at Kinnick Stadium.
The Hawkeyes will face Rutgers in five of the next seven seasons, including the last four of those.
In 2020, Iowa will meet East powers Michigan State, Ohio State and Penn State in successive weeks, the latter two on the road.
Iowa plays Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State three times each in the seven seasons after this one, and Michigan State twice.
The Hawkeyes have two November bye weeks in 2025.
Iowa has added nonconference home games against Kent State (2001), FCS South Dakota State and Illinois State (2022 and 2024, respectively) and Northern Illinois (2025).
Here are Iowa's known scheduled games through 2025. Additional nonconference games from 2022 to 2025 are still to be added.
