OK, this is kind of crazy.
The Iowa Yellow Jackets football team has been following the Iowa Hawkeyes win for win, and doing so with a player who is committed to play at Purdue.
The Iowa High team of Iowa, La., drilled Jennings Friday night, 56-19. That Iowa is 7-0 and has outscored its opponents 327-119. It is scored at least 42 points in each game. The Yellow Jackets are ranked No. 7 in Louisiana’s Class 3A.
Iowa wide receiver Curtis Deville rushed five times for 227 yards and three touchdowns, and had a 67-yard touchdown catch. Deville is committed to play college football at Purdue, the Iowa Hawkeyes’ opponent on Saturday.
Deville has averaged 24 yards per rush, 23.5 per reception this season. He has 1,327 all-purpose yards over seven games.
You know what this means. A player from Iowa will try to riddle Iowa’s secondary in the future.
Iowa (pronounced eye-oh-way), Louisiana is 15 minutes from Lake Charles.
