Iowa football vs. Purdue: Final score, stats, highlights and more

It wasn't exactly an inspiring performance from the Iowa offense Saturday at Kinnick Stadium, but it was enough for the Hawkeyes to get back in the win column after back-to-back losses.

Keith Duncan was 4-for-4 on field goals, Tyler Goodson scored his first career touchdown with a 1-yard plunge and the Hawkeyes never trailed as they got back to .500 in Big Ten play.

Purdue's lone takeaway got the Boilers back in the game, down 19-7 early in the fourth, but they had to settle for a field goal. Later in the fourth, Jack Plummer found David Bell for a 54-yard gain, plus a roughing the passer penalty, but Purdue once again took 3 points. The ensuing onside kick was recovered by Iowa with 2:58 remaining and the Hawkeyes' Mekhi Sargent tacked on another TD.

The Boilers then drove 72 yards in 11 plays and scored on Plummer's fourth-and-1 rollout pass to Payne Durham with 24 seconds left, but once again Iowa recovered the onside kick to seal the win.

Iowa forced two key turnovers, a fumble recovery inside the Hawkeye 10 at the start of the second quarter and a Riley Moss interception to begin the second half.

Iowa QB Nate Stanley was 23 of 33 for 260 yards and a pick. The Hawkeyes struggled on the ground again, rushing for 70 yards on 30 attempts (2.3 per carry) until their final drive, when Sargent ran twice for 35 yards and pushed the total to 102 (3.1).

Bell caught 13 passes for 197 yards and a TD for Purdue. His fellow freshman, Plummer, was 30 of 50 for 327 yards. Like the rest of the season, the Boilers weren't successful on the ground, picking up 33 yards on 18 attempts.
