Iowa football shut out Maryland 23-0 Saturday at Kinnick Stadium for its third straight win.
It's the first shutout for the Hawkeyes (6-1, 3-1) since 2015 at Illinois.
Miguel Recinos was 3-for-3 on field goals and Nate Stanley tossed a 10-yard TD pass to Brandon Smith at the end of the half.
Maryland (4-3, 2-2) didn't crack 100 yards of offense until its final drive of the game and its 115 yards were the fewest Iowa allowed in a Big Ten game. The Iowa defense scored a touchdown when Anthony Nelson recovered a Tyrell Pigrome fumble in the end zone.
No. 22 Iowa travels to Penn State for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff next week.
