IOWA CITY — Iowa’s 2022 Big Ten opponents are the same as previously expected, but the order of those games will be dramatically different.
The newly shuffled 2022 Big Ten schedule will have the Hawkeyes starting their conference slate visiting Rutgers instead of Minnesota on Sept. 24.
Iowa’s bye week also changed from Oct. 22 to Oct. 15. Its trip to Ohio State, which was originally scheduled for Oct. 15, will now be Oct. 22.
The Big Ten also rearranged the dates for the Wisconsin, Purdue and Illinois games.
The day of the game — whether it’s a Friday or Saturday — may still change, according to the Big Ten Network’s schedule release show.
The Big Ten released the reorganized schedule Wednesday “as a result of adjustments to the 2020 football schedule,” the conference said in a news release.
Iowa’s three non-conference games — South Dakota State, Iowa State and Nevada all at home — remain intact.
