1. Iowa has won six straight games against Minnesota, its all-time high in the series.
2. Minnesota hasn’t won at Kinnick Stadium since 1999.
3. Tyler Goodson had a career-high 142 rushing yards in Iowa’s 35-7 win at Minnesota last year. He has been Iowa’s leading rusher in its last 12 games, the first Hawkeye to do that since Shonn Greene in 2008.
4. Iowa is 7-2, but has been outgained by 5.2 yards per game. It outgained opponents by an average of 64.3 yards per game over the previous three seasons.
5. Five different Minnesota running backs have rushed for 100 yards in a game this season.
6. Dane Belton had two interceptions at Northwestern last Saturday, joining Riley Moss and Matt Hankins as Hawkeyes who have two picks in a game this year.
7. Iowa hasn’t topped 17 points in its last three games, the first time that’s happened since 2016.

10. The most-appropriately named Minnesota player may be Thomas Rush, a defensive rush end who has 5.5 quarterback sacks this season.
11. Iowa has intercepted 19 passes, five more than any other team in the nation. Minnesota has four interceptions, more than just 12 other teams in the nation.
12. Gophers left guard Connor Olson has a school-record 54 games started for Minnesota.
13. Iowa hasn’t played a team currently ranked higher than 20th in the AP poll. Neither of its next two opponents, Illinois and Nebraska, are ranked.
14. Iowa and Minnesota are joined by Purdue and Wisconsin in a four-way tie for the Big Ten West lead. Another four-way tie was at chess’ 2001 U.S. Open Championship, between Alexander Wojtkiewicz, Joel Benjamin, Alexander Stripunsky and Fabian Doettling.
15. Twin Cities broadcaster Halsey Hall added "Golden" before "Gophers" when describing Minnesota’s football and basketball teams. He was inspired by the golden uniforms the Gopher football team adopted in the 1930s.
16. Iowa has designated this game as “Military Appreciation Day.” The Hawkeyes have never played Army or Navy. They played Air Force once, a 13-13 tie in 1958.
