Tyler Cook testing NBA through tryouts

Tyler Cook's decision to return to the Iowa men's basketball team will happen by June 6, according to Hawkeye radio announcer Gary Dolphin.

A sophomore power forward, Cook announced shortly after Iowa's season he is seeking feedback as to whether or not to enter the NBA draft. He has not hired an agent, which makes him eligible to return to Iowa if he decides not to declare for the draft. It appears he was not invited to the NBA Combine in Chicago.

Dolphin, who as the emcee at an I-Club event in Omaha Tuesday night, tweeted Cook will have individual workouts with several NBA teams.

'Tyler Cook has six scheduled workouts with NBA teams including San Antonio and Oklahoma City. Will make a decision by June 10th,” Dolphin tweeted.

Cook, an honorable mention all-Big Ten Conference player who averaged 15.3 points per game last season, told hawkeyesports.com last month he still is participating in Iowa's offseason team drills.

'When I committed here, I made a commitment and I am sticking by that commitment,” he said. 'I have two great situations. Whether I go to the NBA, I will be reaching a dream of mine or coming back for my junior year is not a bad option, either. When I have all the information in front of me, I will be able to make an informed decision.”
