2. Iowa won its only meeting with the Wildcats this season, 82-61 in Iowa City on Feb. 28. Keegan Murray had 26 points and 18 rebounds for Iowa. Connor McCaffery made a career-high five 3-pointers and scored 17 points.

4. No. 5-seeds are 19-22 in this event. Michigan was a 5-seed and won four games in four days for the 2018 title. Last year, 5-seed Ohio State won three games to reach the championship before falling to Illinois. No. 12-seeds are 6-9.
5. These are two good teams in turnover margin. Iowa has 160 fewer turnovers than its opponents this season. Northwestern has 109 fewer turnovers than its foes.
6. It’s been 20 years, but Iowa’s Reggie Evans still holds the top two rebounding tournament performances. He had 51 in four games in 2001 when the Hawkeyes won the event, and 44 in four games in 2002 when they were runner-up.
Iowa’s Connor McCaffery (30) shakes hands with Northwestern assistant coach Brian James after the Hawkeyes’ 82-61 win over the Wildcats on Feb. 28 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. McCaffery made a career-high five 3-pointers in the game. (Savannah Blake/The Gazette)
