Five facts:
1. These two programs last met in a 2007 holiday tournament at South Padre Island, Texas, a 75-62 Utah State win. Iowa beat the Aggies in 1950 in Iowa City and in the 1983 NCAA tournament.
2. Iowa has lost its last three games. It lost two in a row just twice last season, and hadn’t lost three straight since it dropped the final four games of the 2018-19 regular-season.
3. This is Iowa’s third game at the Sanford Pentagon (Capacity: 3,250). It defeated Colorado there in 2017 and lost to Gonzaga last December.
4. Utah State was in the last two NCAA tournaments, losing first-round games to Washington in 2019 and Texas Tech in 2021.
5. Aggies fans may not pay much attention to this game. It will be played while Utah State’s football team is facing Oregon State in the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl.
