Iowa draws ACC cellar-dweller Pittsburgh in 2018 ACC/BigTen Challenge

Iowa's men's basketball team will host Pittsburgh on Nov. 27 as part of the 2018 ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Pittsburgh was 0-18 in the ACC last season, 8-24 overall. Kevin Stallings was fired as the Panthers' coach in March and replaced by Jeff Capel, who had been the associate head coach at Duke the last four years.
Pitt's program had enjoyed a good millennium up until the last two years, with appearances in 13 NCAA tournaments since 2002. But the Panthers plummeted in Stallings' two years as their coach.
The Panthers haven't won a game in 2018. Their last win was a 63-59 decision over Towson last Dec. 22.
The Hawkeyes have won their last two Challenge games in Iowa City, but are 5-12 overall in the event. Iowa is 2-5 against Pitt, but won the last two meetings. The most-recent was the 103-70 triumph in Albuquerque, N.M., at the Lobo Classic.
