Engaging in physical activity is a powerful way to boost mood, reduce anxiety, and improve mental well-being. As spring rolls in (I hope for good!), now is the perfect time to get outside whether it’s taking a leisurely walk, going for a bike ride, or even going for a run.
It’s also important that we take time to unwind and recharge, listening to music, reading a book, enjoying a bubble bath or watching a movie. While these activities are not as physically engaging, they do help to us to reduce stress and relax.
Speaking of movies, I have the perfect ticket for you! On April 3, His Hands Free Clinic is hosting a movie night at Marcus Theaters. Whether you're looking to prepare for Easter with The Chosen’s Last Supper, see an action-packed film like Captain America: Brave New World, or enjoy the Looney Tunes movie, there's something for everyone.
Don’t wait — buy your tickets today — the deadline is Monday, March 24. For tickets and more info go to hishandsclinic.org/movie-night/.
Another way to boost your mental health is by shaking up your routine. On April 3, you can skip the cooking and enjoy a delicious dinner that includes pizza, sliders, salad, and fruit (so you won’t feel guilty). Social events like this only bring fun, but also foster a sense of community, which is important for mental health.
Research shows that giving back also enhances our mental well-being. Every ticket purchase will contribute to providing compassionate medical care for those without insurance in our community. His Hands has been offering hope and health care to the uninsured since 1992, and your support will ensure that this vital service continues. This event is made possible by generous partners like Barnhardt Crane, Mainstay Financial Group/Thrivent Community, Worley Warehousing, and C4 Operations.
If you’re unable to attend but still wish to participate, you can make a donation on our website. Remember, investing in your mental health is key — so go ahead, treat yourself to some fun!
If you’re struggling to find joy, help is available. Call 988 if you need support.
