Looking forward to more service in Marion
Steven Jensen, Marion Ward 2
Oct. 21, 2017 7:00 am
I have been a resident of Marion for 55 years. While I enjoy talking about the history of Marion and what it used to be like, it is more exciting to talk about what it may look like in the future and being part of the changes that may occur.
Some of the key issues Marion will face include tax base diversification with a need for expanded commercial/industrial tax base, completion of Tower Terrace Road, being cognizant of our city's past while looking to the future and continued wise spending.
My background as a CPA, CFO, president and commercial loan officer provides me with the skills to be able to make the required analysis and decision-making that will be essential as a member of the Marion City Council. While at Freund-Vector for 30 years I had the responsibility for managing the budget and being watchful over the income and expenses to allow for controlled growth.
I have served as the leader of several local boards, and look forward to serving Marion in another key role.
' Steven Jensen is a candidate for Marion City Council, Ward 2
