It’s time to give back to our community
Laura Steffeck

As a candidate for the Linn-Mar Community School Board, I’m glad to be able to introduce myself. Thank you for the opportunity. My name is Laura Steffeck. My husband, Mike, and I have lived in the Linn-Mar district for 38 years. We have built our life here, raising our four children, running businesses, and making lifelong friends.
As our life is more stable, and we have matured, it is time to do something for the community that we have enjoyed all these years. It is time to serve the Linn-Mar School District. It seems like in the last few years something has changed there. Linn-Mar has always been known for its academic excellence and extra- curricular opportunities. Now that reputation has taken a back seat to a small group of people that are pushing an agenda that is beyond academics and outside extracurricular activities. I am running to give parents a voice and to stand strong for families.
I believe a school board member should have common sense and work well with others. I also have some life experience.
• My husband and I have raised four happy and good people. They are now doing the same.
• Our family loves each other and enjoys each other's company.
• I have effectively run a small company that has been successful for our family and for other families.
• More importantly it has made a positive impact on the people that worked with me.
• I am a good listener and think outside the box
• I have common sense and work toward solutions
