Honors for Washington High
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Recognition just keeps rolling in for Cedar Rapids Washington High School. Last week, Washington was named to U.S. News and World Report's list of “America's Best High Schools”for the second straight year. Only two other high schools in Iowa earned the award based on students meeting state academic proficiency standards and how well they're prepared for college-level work.
Previous Washington honors include three National Blue Ribbon awards and seven times on Newsweek's list of top U.S. high schools.
Impressive.
