Heeding call to act as servant leader

It was Gandhi who said that in order to see change there are times that you must step up from behind the scenes to be the change that you want to see. I am running for council because I want to be the change I want to see and I want to serve our city. I believe that I am called to serve this city.

Citizens deserve diverse leaders in office. We need servant leaders who are attracted to represent citizens with honesty, accountability, equity and transparency - and not just political advancement. We need real, solid leadership where tax dollars are spent for the greater good of everyone.

The term 'servant leader” applies not only in the context of the church, but also to one who accepts the call to serve and lead communities.

I want to serve the city I have grown to love, the city where I raise my family, the city that has opened it arms to me, and supports serving and leading others. I would champion a message and movement of a stronger economy, safe community and solid families.

For the past nine years, despite setbacks, I've watched this city grow and flourish due to unified efforts of those who dared to crossed cultural and racial lines for the greater good of our citizens.

I would love the privilege to serve on a council team that gives leadership and represents not only the wealth of the city, but also the welfare of its citizens.
