Foster offers Iowans another viewpoint
Harry Foster

I am grateful to my fellow Iowans who work hard, treat their neighbors fairly, give meaningful service to their communities and make informed choices in their polling places.
I am very comfortable talking politics with the many Iowans with whom I come in contact on a daily basis. These discussions can validate as well as challenge political philosophies in a very powerful and healthy way.
I, like many of you, consider myself politically aware and vote in most elections. Though I care a great deal about how our state is run, I have not been overly active on the political scene. I was busy raising children, working and participating in civic and church activities. I felt learning about candidates and making informed votes was sufficient. But now I have an opportunity I can't pass up.
Are you aware the incumbent in District 33 has run unopposed in the last two elections? This doesn't sit well with me. It seems Iowans should have a choice in electing a senator.
As I asked in political meetings I attended, I discovered there was a lot of enthusiasm and support for a choice, but not many willing to throw their hat into the ring. Well, here I am. You now have an alternative to the incumbent. The challenge is to get the word out and to let people know who I am and what I stand for.
I was born and raised in Iowa and served 37 years in the military. I love my state and my country. I am a husband, father, Christian, conservative, patriot and a Republican. I am prolife, and believe in traditional virtues - marriage between a man and a woman; taking personal responsibility for ones livelihood and actions; promoting and supporting a strong private sector economy that provides a fair, safe and secure workplace; and a common-sense government that serves the people of the State of Iowa first and foremost.
I believe in upholding the U.S. and Iowa constitutions as our guiding documents.
As I have been discussing politics, many have expressed gratitude for my candidacy. I would consider it a privilege to serve our great state, and hope you will exercise your right to vote. Isn't it great to know you have a choice?
