The public is being asked to weigh in on flood plain management plans by participating in surveys on the Rebuild Iowa Office Web site, www.rio.iowa.gov
A survey examining draft recommendations on how to manage Iowa flood plains will be available at www.rio.iowa.gov/wrcc/survey.html. through Thursday.
The Iowa Water Resources Coordinating Council is seeking public feedback on draft recommendations for flood plains, uplands, lowlands and storm water management. The recommendations specifically address a watershed management approach to reduce the adverse impact of future flooding on the state's residents, businesses and communities, as well as on soil and water quality.
Meanwhile, the public has until Monday to fill out Rebuild Iowa's Speak Up Iowa II survey at www.rio.iowa.gov/
contact/SUI_II.php. This survey is being used to collect opinions on Iowa's recovery from the floods and tornadoes of 2008.
