State hearing Wednesday on medical marijuana proposal

Iowa is looking at a proposal to allow doctors to prescribe medical marijuana. But first, a state panel wants to hear from you.

The Iowa Pharmacy Board will hold the first in a series of public hearings on medical marijuana Wednesday.

The board would then make a recommendation to lawmakers on whether to legalize marijuana.

The first hearing is Wednesday in Des Moines. Other hearings are set for Sept. 2 in Mason City, Oct. 7 in Iowa City and Nov. 4 in Council Bluffs.
