Slight delay on Coralville bridge work

CORALVILLE - Major work on Coralville's First Avenue bridge project has been delayed a few days.
First Avenue was to have been reduced to one lane in each direction immediately north and south of the bridge starting last Thursday. There was a glitch with an insurance requirement, causing a delay, but the work should get started this week, City Administrator Kelly Hayworth said.
Some preliminary work has already begun. The project is expected to take most of this year and is part of a broader plan to mitigate future flooding along First Avenue.
