Reminder of 2011 National Night Out
City of Cedar Rapids
Jul. 19, 2011 11:06 am
The City of Cedar Rapids is asking its citizens to turn on their porch lights and spend time in their neighborhoods to celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. National Night Out is in its 28
th
year with Cedar Rapids participating for the last 12 years.
It is important for neighborhoods to connect and National Night Out is a simple way to do this. Each neighborhood can host their own, unique get-together. Neighbors can have a desert night or barbeque. It can be more elaborate with music and children's activities. We encourage neighborhoods to be creative. To get more information on how to host an event, or to register your event so that police and fire fighters can stop by and meet your neighborhoods, go to the City of Cedar Rapids' web site at www.cedar-rapids.org/police or contact Sgt. Mark Andries at 319-286-5438 or m.andries@cedar-rapids.org.
Look for an update of events as the National Night Out gets closer.
