Remember, Reflect and Respect event Sept. 11

The Cedar
Rapids Fire Department and Cedar Rapids Police Department will be participating in the Remember, Reflect and Respect service at Veteran's Memorial Stadium, 950 Rockford Rd. SW, on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. Both the Fire Department and Police Department Honor Guards will be a part of the service that will provide time for memory, reflection and hope as the Inter-Religious Council of Linn County and the public safety agencies will honor the memory of the brave men and women who perished in the line of duty on September 11, 2001.
Fire Chief Mark English and Police Chief Greg Graham are among the speakers who will be reflecting on how Americans are different as the result of the September 11, 2001 events. The Fire Department Honor Guard will be ringing a bell and the Police Department Honor Guard will have a three-round volley in memoriam.
Other speakers will be reflecting on how citizens can work together to encourage mutual understanding, respect and affection amongst all human beings.
