Public meeting scheduled for US-151 project

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Iowa Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting next month to discuss proposed improvements to US-151 near Cedar Rapids.

The DOT's open house public information meeting takes place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Fairfax City Hall, 300 80th St. Court. Participants will be able to gain additional information on the state's plans for right of way improvements to US-151 from the south side of Church Street in Fairfax to south of Dean Road SW in Cedar Rapids. The project also will address needs to the highway's four bridges over the Union Pacific Railroad and drainage ditches along the route.

Through traffic will be detoured during the project's construction.
