Iowa's governor and junior senator — both notable for being the first women to hold their respective positions — teamed up to travel to GOP conventions across the state Saturday.
The pair started the day at Iowa City West High School, in Iowa's second district, before departing for planned stops in Monticello, Ames and Stuart, Iowa.
'We've got a great story to tell, we have a lot to be proud of, but we've a lot of work to do. So we're counting on you to keep this state moving in the right direction,' said Gov. Kim Reynolds alongside Sen. Joni Ernst in a video posted to Twitter.
Meanwhile, 1st District Democrats were predicting a 'blue wave' that will 'sweep right into the Statehouse, right into the Congress, and send Rod Blum packing, send Kim Reynolds packing,' said Chairman Troy Price.
Both parties will have state conventions June 16.
