November edition of “Our CR” to be delivered this week
City of Cedar Rapids
Nov. 7, 2011 3:00 pm
This week, the City of Cedar Rapids will mail the November edition of its new magazine-style newsletter, called “Our CR,” to more than 67,000 households and businesses in Cedar Rapids, Robins, Hiawatha and surrounding communities that benefit from services provided by the City. In this 60-page edition, readers will find the seasonal Parks & Recreation Department's “PLAY!” guide of winter recreation programs inside.
“We received a lot of positive feedback from residents about the first edition of ‘Our CR' in August. In fact, we added information to the November edition based on that feedback,” said City Manager Jeff Pomeranz. “We encourage residents to keep those comments coming. We're committed to providing the City information that they need.”
When next week's edition is delivered, residents will find information about City building projects, including the Central Fire Station, Westside Fire Station, Animal Care & Control facility and Public Works facility, as well as information about the City's plans for snow removal, winter garbage, recycling and yard waste collection, a new neighborhood outreach program and more. The inside section is full of information about winter recreation programs. This magazine is designed to be a reference of important City information that residents can keep for up to four months.
“I would especially like to thank the generous sponsors who have helped us defer the cost of producing ‘Our CR.' Thank you to St. Luke's Hospital, Physicians' Clinic of Iowa, the Eastern Iowa Airport, Affordable Plumbing Service, City Carton Recycling, the Linn County Solid Waste Agency, the Cedar Rapids Public Library Foundation, CRST and Armstrong Development Company for advertising in the November 2011 edition,” said Mr. Pomeranz.
This is the second of four editions of the “Our CR” newsletter for fiscal year 2012. Future editions will be mailed in March and May 2012.
