Most City of Cedar Rapids Offices Closed for Holidays

The City of Cedar Rapids will observe the Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day holidays in the next two weeks. Most City offices will be closed on December 23 and 26, as well as January 2. The following city services will continue to operate:

• CR Transit – City buses will be operating on Friday, December 23
• Fire Department – Responding to emergencies
• Joint Communications Center – Responding to emergencies
• Police Department – Responding to emergencies
• Solid Waste & Recycling – There will be no delay in collection of garbage, yard waste and recycling materials.
• Water Treatment & Water Pollution Control

The Water Division's 24-hour emergency service number is (319) 286-5910. Public Works' Sewer and Street Division's 24-hour emergency service number is (319) 286-5826.

Additional Closures:

• The Cedar Rapids Public Library will be closed from Friday, December 23, through Monday, December 26, as well as from Saturday, December 31, through Monday, January 2.
• The Fire Department's administrative offices and Fire Marshal's office will also be closed on Friday, December 30.
