Monticello forum set for 1st District Democratic candidates
Candidates vying for the Democratic nomination in Iowa's U.S. House 1st District will participate in a forum April 23 in Monticello.
Monica Vernon of Cedar Rapids and Pat Murphy of Dubuque will answer questions posed by Jim Johnson, publisher of the Journal-Eureka Newspaper, which along with the Jones County Democratic Party, is sponsoring the forum.
It will be from 1 to 2 p.m. April 23 at the Monticello City Hall.
Murphy and Vernon will give opening comments and then answer questions. The forum will be open to the public and will include time afterward to meet the candidates.
No questions will be taken from the audience during the forum, but suggestions for questions may be sent to Publisher@Journal-Eureka.com.
