Mike Pence coming Friday to Des Moines
The Gazette
Oct. 15, 2018 10:03 pm
Vice President Mike Pence will stop Friday afternoon in Des Moines to rally for 3rd District U.S. Rep David Young, the congressman's campaign announced Monday.
Besides the two, also scheduled to be at the rally are Gov. Kim Reynolds and legislators.
The rally is at 1:45 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Des Moines International Airport, 6111 Fleur Drive. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.
The event is open to the public but free tickers are required. They can be obtained at davidyoungforiowa.com/vp.
This is the second time in as many weeks that the White House has deployed to Iowa to support Young, who appears to be in a tight race this November with Democrat Cindy Axne, a small-business owner from West Des Moines.
President Donald Trump on Oct. 9 stumped for Young - and for Reynolds, who also faces election Nov. 6 - at a Council Bluffs rally.
The 3rd District includes 16 mostly southwest Iowa counties, but also Des Moines.
