CEDAR RAPIDS - Linn County officials selected the longtime budget director as the county's next finance director.
Dawn Jindrich, the budget director since 1994, will succeed Steve Tucker as finance director when he retires at the end of May after 36 years working for the county, according to a news release.
In her new role, Jindrich will be responsible for all of the county's financial management responsibilities, such as financial reporting and the annual budget, according to the release.
'I am excited to continue my career with the Linn County Finance and Budget Department as Linn County finance director. I look forward to maintaining Linn County's strong financial position and reputation for excellence in financial management,” Jindrich said in the release.
Jindrich earned a degree in business administration and her Certified Public Accountant Certificate from the University of Iowa. Previously she helped the county develop its annual budget and advising the Board of Supervisors on financial decisions, among other responsibilities.
As financial director, she'll earn a salary of $134,000, said Lisa Powell, human resources director, in an email.
