Linn County's fiscal year 2011 annual report was released today and is now available on Linn County's website at www.linncounty.org. Hard copies are also available at Linn County West. The reports are also being distributed in today's edition of The Gazette (Dec. 28) as well as the Linn News-Letter, Marion Times and the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun.
“The purpose of the annual report is to make Linn County's financial information easily accessible to the public and to show the many different ways county government works for citizens every day,” Linn County Board of Supervisors Chairman Ben Rogers said.
Linn County began making annual reports available more than 10 years ago after the Government Finance Officers Association established the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) Program. The report makes Linn County's financial information readily accessible and easily understandable to the general public without a background in public finance.
This year's report also provides a brief overview of Linn County services and an update on the new County buildings that have opened following the 2008 flood.
