CEDAR RAPIDS - The Linn County Board of Supervisors is seeking two members of the public to join a committee to review submissions for a new county logo.
The board will select the two public representatives to join seven Linn County employees on a nine-member Logo Review Committee. The committee will review and rank submissions received in the Linn County Logo Redesign Challenge.
Linn County Communications Director Joi Alexander said more than 30 submissions were received from local artists.
The deadline to apply for a committee seat is 5 p.m. Nov. 30.
The committee's first meeting will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Jean Oxley Linn County Public Service Building, 935 Second St. SW, Cedar Rapids.
Ultimately, the committee will share input with the county supervisors, who will make the final decision on the new logo.
Additional information on the committee can be found online at linncounty.org.
The board earlier this year opened an application process to seek design proposals for a new county logo.
Linn County's logo - hills, trees and a river with the Cedar Rapids skyline in the background - has been used by the county since the 1990s.
The chosen artist or company will receive $2,500 in compensation.
