Labor union endorses Corridor city council candidates

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Hawkeye Area Labor Council has announced a wave of endorsements for Corridor City Council elections in 2017.

For Cedar Rapids City Council:

District 3 - Dale Todd

District 5 - Justin Shields

At-Large - Tyler Olson

Coralville City Council:

At-Large - Elizabeth Dinschel, Meghann Foster and Miriam Timmer-Hackert.

Iowa City Council:

At-Large - Mazahir Salih and Kingsley Botchway.

Hawkeye Area Labor Council AFL-CIO is a coalition of unions, and is the official organization of the national AFL-CIO in East Central and Northern Iowa, representing 26 counties, 75 affiliates, and more than 13,000 members. The organization fights for social and economic justice; seeking to promote legislation that will enable the government to be responsive to the needs of working people and their families.
