His office says he expects to be back to work next week

Iowa Republican U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley has been discharged from a Washington, D.C.-area hospital, where he had been treated for an infection, according to a statement from his office.
The brief statement says the 90-year-old expects to be back to work next week.
Grassley had been receiving antibiotic infusions for an unspecified infection, his office said in a news release issued Tuesday.
The release said Grassley was “is in good spirits” and planned to return to work “as soon as possible following doctors’ orders,” and was expected to make a full recovery.
In January 2023, Grassley underwent surgery for a hip fracture. He told reporters at the time he injured himself while doing “a stupid thing” in the kitchen of his Washington, D.C., town house. “It didn’t work and I fell and broke my hip,” he said.
Grassley has represented Iowa in the U.S. Senate since 1981, and in 2022 was re-elected to his eighth, six-year term.
