Iowa Transportation Commission approves grant for city of Vinton

AMES, Iowa – April 10, 2012 –Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy (RISE) Local Development grant application submitted by the city of Vinton. Up to $718,405 will be made available to assist in reconstruction of approximately 2,000 feet of West 13
th
Street and turn-lane improvements on U.S. 218/K Avenue located on the west side of town. This project is anticipated to be completed by May 2014.
This project is necessary to provide improved access to more than 61 acres for light industrial purposes.
Funding for the grant comes from the city share of the RISE Fund.
