Iowa City wind energy park moving forward

IOWA CITY – The City Council Tuesday night voted unanimously to approve plans to install the infrastructure for the first phase of an industrial park aimed at the wind energy market.
The work will cost an estimated $3.65 million, with construction starting in July and scheduled to be finished in April 2012.
What is officially known as the Iowa City Industrial Campus sits along 420
th
Street in southeast Iowa City. The first phase of development will result in 50 acres of shovel-ready lots.
