Iowa City considering search firms in city manager search

The City Council will interview four firms to help it in its search for a new city manager.
The council will select a firm after a round of interviews April 9. The firms, in the order they were initially ranked by council members, are: The Brimeyer Group Inc., The Mercer Group Inc., Slavin Management Consultants Inc. and Colin Baenziger & Associates.
They are from Minnesota, Georgia, Georgia and Florida, respectively.
The council is looking for a successor to Michael Lombardo, whom it fired last April for undisclosed reasons. It has said it hopes to hire someone by the fall.
