JOHNSON COUNTY - Rejoice Highway 965 fans, your bridge is about to be cleared for use.
According to a media release from the Johnson County Secondary Road Department, due to 'substantial completion of the Highway 965 Bridge Project” the bridge will be open Friday morning in time for early morning traffic to get through. The release stated that the opening date has been moved up three weeks from the original plan's completion date due to fact that the contractor, Cramer and Associates of Grimes, was ahead of schedule on the project.
The roads department cautioned that some work remains and this could result in some single lane closures. The department asks that motorists keep an eye out for stoppages, workers, and equipment and to obey flagger instructions in the case of a temporary closure.
