CEDAR RAPIDS — Former Vice President Mike Pence will return to Iowa to speak to the Family Leadership Summit in July.
Pence’s addition to the speaker’s list was announced Monday by the Family Leader, a pro-family Christian organization that has regularly attracted nationally prominent conservatives to its conferences.
Pence, who is considered to be a likely candidate for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, has recently spoken in New Hampshire and South Carolina, which like Iowa are among the early states on the presidential nomination calendar.
He’ll be joined in the speakers’ lineup by at least two other 2024 prospects — former Trump Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.
Pence was in Iowa in October to speak at an event hosted by the Family Leader. In August, Pence was in Iowa for a pair of campaign events with law enforcement officers and farmers, who discussed derecho damage with the vice president.
