Former Iowan, actor Hill Harper to stump for Obama in Cedar Rapids
"CSI: NY" actor and Iowa native Hill Harper will stump for President Obama Oct. 12 in Cedar Rapids.
Harper, who lived in Keokuk and Fort Madison before moving to California as a teenager, will have a meet-and-greet and book-signing at New Bo Books, 1105 3rd Street SE, from 6 to 7:15 p.m.
Harper, an honor graduate of both Brown University and Harvard Law School, is the author of "Letters to a Young Brother," which was named a Best Book for Young Adults by the American Library Association in 2007, and the New York Times bestseller, "Letters to a Young Sister."
Harper, who met Obama on the basketball court, also campaigned for the Democratic presidential hopeful in 2008.
