Federal agency to release GDP estimates of every U.S. county next week
The Gazette
Dec. 7, 2018 12:56 pm
For the first time, the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis next Wednesday will release estimates of the gross domestic product of every county in America.
The data will cover all 3,113 counties and independent cities for each quarter between 2012 and 2015, breaking the information into goods, services and government values.
The BEA will use the release to test its methodology before it begins releasing annual county-level GDP estimates in December 2019.
The data will shed additional light on local economies across the country and in Eastern Iowa.
The Gazette will report further on the agency's estimates for Linn, Johnson and other counties in the region when it becomes available.
